Fun Family Activities

Okay, so i always write first and then add pictures, but then the pictures come before the writing and it messes everything up. SOOOOO i guess i might fix it. so instead we will start with the most recent and work out way back. So the above picture is actually a video,but when its a video it just makes it a picture like that also, so that is thad running through the sprinkler with Hayden. He loved doing it with Daddy, but when I did it with him before thad got home, it wasnt that great! so.......But we had lots of fun on our sunny day in the sprinkler.
Oh ya, and the glasses. So he screamed everytime in the car when the sun would go in his eyes. So i wasn't going to get glasses because i didn't think he would keep them on. WELL, boy was i WRONG. He loves them and wears them all the time when we are outside. If i have mine on, so does he. If mine are on my head, so are his..........it is hilarious.

After we went to Laconner for the tulips (which weren't there because we were to early) we went to a mariners game. Center field, last row, but it was lots of fun. I feel like i have already written this, but i didn't see it in my other post?
These of of La Conner, the tulip festival. He wore his glasses the WHOLE DAY! My parents thought it was hilarious. We were a little early for the tulips, and we didn't see as many tulip fields as we had when I was growing up????? Did anyone else think this?


We went up to Canada for easter and went with the fam to Vancouver for one day, we went to Granville Island and walked around, etc. So my dad has taught Hayden to raise this sword high in the air everytime he picks it up, so I just had to throw in a pic of this, since it happens all the time. We were at Fred Meyer the other day and they had a foam sword adn Hayden saw it, and once he had it, instantly raised it triumphantly into the air, just like he was taught. And then there are a few shots from easter. My mom got him that outfit....what a prep, but oh so cute!
Hayden has also learned to give kisses, and he is really good at it. So he gave Milanne (above) a kiss and it was so cute!!!!

Spring Break

Thad has been on spring break this week and we have had WONDERFUL weather. It is amazing how it changes your attitude and makes you feel so fresh. On sunday, when our good weather began, i woke up and felt like i was in a different world. I just had a whole new outlook. The weather has just been so great. One winter here and im already dying for the sun. I took TN so forgranted. But, the weather has been amazing the last few days. So we have taken advantage of it. Yesterday we took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island. It was a such a gorgeous ride and i only posted a few of teh pics thad took, because he took many. We walked around and had lunch in teh park. Hayden did so well for us, and then crashed as soon as we hit the car after we were all done.

On Monday we went to the Ballard Locks. Ballard is a neighbourhood of Seattle just on the north side. They have a canal that comes through the neighbourhood. And it connects the fresh water and salt water, so they have to lock the boats up and equalize the water......if that makes sense. But it was fun to watch and a gorgeous day......so we once again had a picnic and let the critter run around! That is so fun these days. I remember being in highschool and if that was all we did, just sit in a park for awhile, i would have been bored out of my mind thinking, "this was the plan for the day?" but now.....with the weather, it is so inviting! And now i guess I have responsiblities,,,,,,dishes, house etc. and did not back then. So the park is a welcome escape.

AND, sunday we went to Gas works park for the afternoon. It is right on the water and so beautiful! People are flying kites in the wind and dogs running round, (which hayden loves. I swear we dont even have to go to the zoo, he sees a dog and its like we ahve gone to the zoo anyways.)

A House of Mourning/ rainy weekend

This past weekend my sister and friends Maggie and Tash came up to see us. Katelin came home from Union for her spring break. We decided we do a boat tour ( for free, thads hook up) and then walk around downtown/ shop. Well, it was not a nice day on sat. i think it sprinkled and rained all day. We did our best to have a good time. I got stressed about parking and time etc. not one of my better moments to say the least, but we made it. And after i got over that, i think we had a pretty good day. The boat tour really was good, and shopping was just wet, i think we were all tired by that time. so we went home and got ready to go out for dinner ( without hayden, yah). So we tried Pesos in Queen anne, which was so good. Thad loved it, and it was so nice to not have Hayden with us. And actually, he couldn't have come with us anyways because on the restaurants website, it said no child allowed. Can you believe that? I mean, it wasnt really child friendly, just super hip. But I guess we have to be careful where we go here with hayden, maybe check places out ahead of time. Crazy!
We had a great weekend, and fo course sunday was super nice and they wre leaving, so that was disappointing. But all in all, lots of fun!

I often times don't know exactly what to blog about.SO......i read my friends blog and she gave me an idea. As some of you know, Thad is a HUGE memphis bb fan, and Calipari has been there head coach for the last 9 years, i think. He last year took them to the finals, and this year i think the sweet sixteen! so anyways, he has done a WHOLE LOT for the program, and thad practically worships the ground he walks on, ( along with his dad, and brothers, i mean, they love him also).
so im not exactly sure how it went down, but he is now leaving Memphis to coah at UK (kentucky). So surprisingly, thad is taking it very well. I think he just loves Calipari so much that he can't be mad at him. But i am very surprised that we still like him after leaving our devoted Memphis. So its a sad week here. BUT the worst part is that Memphis might be getting the UT (Tennessee) coach, which thad DOES NOT LIKE UT. But i think he admitted the coach might not be so mad, but once again, his whole family loves memphis and despises UT. So this is an interesting saga in our house.
The night Memphis lost, we put hayden in is Memphis outfit. I don't think he has worn shorts in months, so he was pulling them and checking them out. I cant wait to put him in summer clothes and see his arm and legs again..........we havent worn short sleeves or shorts in forever! So i cant wait for summer.
And im still on the daycare hunt. Got a few options, but nothing in stone yet. Next week Kent schools are on break so there is not rush, so thats kinda nice. but still, its kinda overwhelming, but im visiting 2 today and then i think ill be done.

Hayden's Homework

Here is Hayden helping Blake with his homework! yah right. Hayden loves loves Blake. Whenever he is home, Hayden wants to know what he is doing.  So one night while Blake was busy doing homework like always, Hayden goes in there and we caught this shot.  Hes so smart!

   Some new news around here is that my daycare lady wasn't certified so the state found out and shut her down!!!!!! And i am mad. We had a great thing going.  She could take Hayden whenever, and she was cheap, and he loved going there. So all things were good. So now, i cant work because we have no childcare. So this all happened yesterday, so its not a huge deal. but were looking for other options now. SO........it makes you realize how good we had it!  Not that this is life threatening or anything......but, and i also don't mind not working.   I love love spending the day with my cutie.

  Today we went to the park for an hour and a half. That is a new record for us.  It was such a mild day here, I could not believe it.  We were going to go to the play place in southcenter because i thought it was cold......but it was so nice out that we switched routes and went to the park.  And Hayden can now go up the stairs, (on his knees) and down the slide by himself. I cannot believe it!!!!!!! He is learning so fast.  And he did not want to leave the park also.  But he was tired when we did leave.  I thought he might stay up at home for another hour when we got home, but no......straight to bed. so that was nice!

Not much news

So i am updating this from a classroom where I am subbing. Don't worry, the students are at PE. I just had a little extra time, so I thought why not? Life has been going well. For our friends in TN, we have still had some snow lately, i think the last 2 weeks it snowed twice, so its a cold march.
This week my mom has come down to watch Hayden so that I can work with free childcare! yah! So that is where i am. Subbing is going well, I think the more i do the easier it is. So each day it gets better. Yesterday when i came home, Hayden starting crying the minute he saw me and basically was a grump for an hour after i got home! so that was not pleasent to come home to. Hopefully today he will be better.
I think i have more patience with Hayden when I am with him ALL the time. When i get breaks and help, and then when it is me and Hayden again, I think i have less patience. So i don't kwno what that means, or how to solve it, but that is just my observation. So well see what happens.
My sister is coming home on friday! yah! for her spring break, so I am so excited to see her and have her come home. So were going to Canada this weekend to see her.
Not that much else is new. Thad is on break from his masters, so he almost doesnt know what to do with his free time, so hell start again in 2 weeks i think. Otherwise, life is good.

A Week with the Waggoners

I came home from my run yesterday and Hayden and Thad are watching U2 on "on demand" and Hayden is so into it. His first tv watching, and its of U2, daddy was so proud. He was loving it and dancing!
This week we had the pleasure of hosting Brandt and Jill Waggoner, Blake's brother and sister in law. Blake is our roomate who came from TN as well when we moved here. We had a wonderful time with them. I know they were so happy to see Blake and spend some family time together. And they had good weather, i think it only rained one morning. So that was nice for them. Brandt and Jill loved to play with Hayden. Brandt and Blake would be in Blake's room and Hayden would just walk right in, like he was invited or something, and sit on Blake's lap (he does this quite often) or play with Blake's fan, ( one of his favorite toys). He learned to turn on Blakes' fan and when he did, Jill said Hayden put his hand in his hair and let the fan blow his curls! He is quite funny. When i blowdry my hair i often blow it on his for a second and he must have caught on.
Hayden really is learning so much these days. He throws his own diaper away, and i tell him, "Go throw it in the garbage" and he always goes to the one in the kitchen, but today he, without me telling, threw it in the garbage in the bathroom. He has also learned to spin, and whine, still. Everything he wants is a whine/ point. We have got to work on this. Im trying with the please ( sign language) but i think i just need to put my foot down until he does it. Hayden has also helped me make the bed, he just starting giving me the pillows, it was so cute. I dont think anything can melt your heart like your own kids.......really! AND, we have learned to kiss! and we do it often.
Yesterday at this play place hayden started goin gfor another boy with arms open and mouth open, for a big kiss. He didn't get to give him one because the boy ran! and then later he was showing off his tummy ( which i ahve been trying to teach him and of course in public he finally does it) and another boy came up to him and tried to give him a raspberry on his tummy. Hayden fell and so did the boy. It was really funny, i think the boy must have seen me because i had just given hayden one a few minutes earlier.

These next ones are in TN. Some are with Stella, the dog, Hayden loves Stella. We think because he can tell her what to do and tell her no. Its hilarious to watch!

A week in the Big TN

So we bought tickets very last minute deciding to go to tn. Thad had late winter break, but we were going to stay in town because he had his UW class, but then that got cancelled. So we quickly bought tickets for teh following week to TN.
I was a little worried about Hayden on the plane, but by now i feel like a professional, and i had gravol this time, i thought i was clear. So i gave him the Gravol, but i didnt give enough, so Thad and I watched the Gravol try to work and Hayden fought it off. And i mean fought it off. He started flialing his body back and forth and acting really crazy, and yelling etc. I thought i had really hooped myself. So the flailing didnt last too long but then he wasnt tired. So 2 hours into it, the man ahead of me turns around and asks me to have my son stop hitting his seat. And his seat is fully reclined in my face and haydens face! So i say in a not so very nice voice, " im sorry, there is not alot of room here" and he says," well its been 2 hours, 2 hours" and i was like, " he can either hit your seat or scream buddy!" and he turned back around half way through my talking. I was livid! i dont think Thad knew what to do. He was also angry at the man, but then was trying to to laugh after i called him buddy! I was so so livid! i almost burst into tears at him. I think i fumed for15 min after. so......Hayden thankfully flailed himself one more time and then passed out. Thank goodness. That lasted about an hour and then I stood the last 45 min. Then we landed. WE had another 1.15min flight after, adn he did well. i was glad to be in TN.
We had a really good time there. We got to hang out alot with Thads parents which was so good becuase thad didnt really get to see them over thanksgiving. They had such a great time with Hayden. And Hayden thourally (sp?) enjoyed there dogs. I think he especially loved them because he could tell the dogs no. It was quite funny. We also saw some friends and of course my sister. One day it was even like 68degrees, and then the next 32. The weather there is crazy.
The flight home was better. We were delayed for 2.5 hours before takeoff, so they rebooked us our connection, bu ti still gave hayden the gravol like an hour to early. But in the end he slept almost all of the plane rides and did really well! And then we had a not so great night when we got home at 1230/ 230 (our time). But that was okay, he slept on the planes.
So now were home, back to routine, Hayden got an ear infection in tn, and now has a cough, but hes almost better. He is getting faster and faster and i think he almost ran this morning. He has also gotten really , i dont know the word. but he gets his blanky and pacifier and pillow and lays down on the ground. and he never sits still,s o that is definelty different. I dont know if its the sickness, or that he learned from the planes that his blanky is for snuggling?? who knows.
